The Eastdale Little League softball team won the World Series title beating Florida 16-1 on Wednesday in Portland, Oregon.

Eastdale scored 4 runs in the first inning and never looked back.  Andrea Howard went 3-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBI's, scoring two runs.  Jessica McAlister also went 3-for-4 at the plate, adding two runs of her own.  Eastdale scored 11 runs in the fifth inning, capped off by a bases clearing triple by Ariana Strunk.  She would score on the play after an errant throw to third base. Pitcher Shannon Stein picked up another victory throwing all five innings and only giving up four hits.

It's New Mexico's first Little League Softball World Series title since 1984.  The Albuquerque Isotopes plan to honor the squad during a home game this weekend.
