As Albuquerque police continue to investigate an apparent double homicide in the city's Northeast Heights, friends and family of the victims are coming forward.
Family confirmed to KOB Eyewitness News 4 Wednesday that Kirsten Landeau and her nephew Dillon Cearfoss, 20, were both killed Tuesday evening inside a home on Parkview Avenue.
Police have not confirmed the identities of the victims, but said the bodies were found by a family member Tuesday. Deputy Chief Paul Feist released a statement that the bodies had been taken to the Office of the Medical Investigator.
Police are not releasing how they died or if there is a suspect on the loose. However, family and friends said they believe it was Landeau's ex-boyfriend who killed her and her nephew.
"The family thinks it was an ex-boyfriend, which is consistent with some information that I found on her Facebook about them breaking up the day before this happened," said Landeau's cousin, Nick Berget.
Family members said Landeau and Cearfoss both lived in the home near Tramway and I-40. They said there was no sign of forced entry in the home.
APD has not confirmed details about the scene.
