Mayor Announces ABQdata App Competition Winners eligible to split $30,000 in prize money Albuquerque- Mayor Richard J. Berry announced on August 24 that the City of Albuquerque will be hosting an Apps Competition to find the next best, tech-savvy, creation for residents and visitors. Twenty-First Century technology is quickly becoming the fastest mechanism for getting instant answers, search results, maps, suggestions, images, and gamut of other finds. Now the City is hoping to engage citizens by creating useful apps that will encourage participation in and knowledge of city events, trail locations, pollen data, recycling drop-off points, among many other categories.
The formal categories include:
· Cultural Resources
· Business in Albuquerque
· Outdoor Fun & Healthy Living
"There is a tremendous pool of talent in our community," said Mayor Berry. "I want to encourage and cultivate this innovation and creativity to help us provide a better service to the community."
The ABQdata Apps Competition will run through October 22nd.
