Five temporary employees with New Mexico's medical marijuana program are no longer working for the state.

Friday evening officials with the state Health Department will only say they plan to fill the positions with permanent employees.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 told you last year about the state hiring five temporary workers to keep up with growing marijuana prescriptions.

It's not clear if those were the same employees now being replaced.

The department plans to start the interview process for new employees next week.
