Monday is the start of a very important time in politics for New Mexico and the nation.
The National Republican Convention begins in Tampa, and then immediately after the Democratic Convention begins in Charlotte, North Carolina.
KOB Eyewitness News 4 will have live coverage from both.
Not only is KOB anticipating a busy week in politics, we're also keeping an eye on the weather in Tampa.
A Red Cross crew deployed Friday from Albuquerque, heading to Florida to help those who may need to take shelter when the hurricane makes landfall.
Republicans are hoping hurricane Isaac doesn't steal the show.
The convention promises speeches from the party's heavy weights.
Taking the primetime stage Tuesday is Governor Susana Martinez.
She says she wants her speech to help Americans understand the differences between presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. And she wants America to know that New Mexico is an important state this election season.
Lt. Governor John Sanchez is al expected to attend the convention as is Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry.
KOB's coverage will zero in on the big topics that New Mexico cares about.
