SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Gov. Susana Martinez has helped unveil New Mexico's new smartphone application as part of a statewide DWI enforcement effort.

The new "ENDWI" app now is available for free on all Android smartphones and will soon be available for iPhone users.

Users of the application can create a designated driver list of family members and friends who can be contacted quickly if someone has had too much to drink.

It also can instantly locate and call the nearest taxi cab company and report someone who's driving erratically by using the one-touch (hash)DWI reporting feature.

The smartphone application also can be used as an electronic blood-alcohol content guide, where the number and type of drinks a person has consumed is entered into the app and an estimated BAC is provided.
