A battle between the Governor Susana Martinez's chief of staff and a prominent Democratic attorney Sam Bregman is heating up.
On Wednesday, 4 On Your Side investigative team obtained the entire one-hour and 10-minute recording in which Chief of Staff Keith Gardner is heard talking about giving out state jobs to friends.
In the recording, Gardner appears to offer to help his friend, who works for a fire department, get a job - a state job, even as manager of the state fair.
Gardner: "Let me get with Ryan and get serious...about something...might be something. Maybe looking for a state fair manager. I'm about to fire that (expletive). God, they screwed that up."
Governor Martinez blasted back, saying the release of the tape was politically motivated.
On Tuesday, the Martinez administration announced Gardner would be filing an ethics complaint against Bregman.
4 On Your Side reached out to Gardner for a copy of the complaint. So far, he has not been able to provide it.
