FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - State workplace safety officials are investigating the death of an Albuquerque man who was killed after falling off the roof of a building being built in Farmington.

Farmington police Sgt. Robert Perez identified the man as 32-year-old Jose Corona.

Corona was working on a store building Tuesday afternoon when he apparently fell through a hole in the roof.

He had severe head injuries and died shortly after arriving at San Juan Regional Medical Center. The Farmington Daily Times reports that Corona worked for High Desert Roofing in Albuquerque and was laying insulation when he fell.

The company didn't return calls from the Daily Times. New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety Bureau spokesman Jim Winchester says the agency's investigation will take several weeks.
