PORTALES, N.M. (AP) - Officials at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales say the school has set a record for fall enrollment with more than 5,800 students attending classes.

The 5,814 students on the rolls represent an increase of more than 4 percent from last fall's 5,574 students.

Enrollment includes undergraduates and more than 1,200 graduate students.

ENMU president Steven Gamble says in a statement the university's professors have earned the school a reputation for high academic quality at a low price.

Yearly tuition and fees at the school are only $4,350.
