The New Mexico Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal from a group that wants to see a minimum wage hike question on the Nov. 6 ballot.

The appeal was filed yesterday after a district judge ruled the question could not go on the ballot for various reasons.

The state's highest court will hear the issue at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The deadline to have the ballot certified is Wednesday.

If approved by voters, the proposed wage hike would raise Albuquerque's minimum wage from $7.50 to $8.50 an hour.
