UPDATE: Amber Alert still on for girl, 15, who may have been taken by uncle

New Mexico State Police say the search is still on for a 15-year-old girl who may have been abducted by her uncle.

State police say the Truth or Consequences Police Department is searching for Safrina Ugsang, who may have been abducted by her uncle Chris Salgado, 48.

They also said Ugsang is in the company of her father, Robert Ugsang, and younger sister and are in a in a 2000 Pearl White colored 2000 Lincoln Town Car.

The vehicle is low to the ground and should be displaying a California license plate DPS 8286.

Police are asking that Safrina Ugsang's father contact Sierra County Dispatch at (575) 894-7111 or any law enforcement agency to confirm the welfare of the children.

Officials said they've received a large number of calls about the case, but no leads yet.

Ugsnag was last seen with her uncle in Truth or Consequences at 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 13.

Ugsang and Salgado walked away from Ugsang's home on Yucca Street in Truth or Consequences and have not been seen since then.

Salgado was last seen wearing unknown colored shorts and t-shirt. He is 6’5” tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds, with brown eyes and balded or short black hair.

He has several tattoos on his body to include chest, fingers, arms and neck.

Ugsang is 5’2” tall and weighs approximately 117 pounds, with long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Ugsang is believed to be in danger of being sexually perpetrated by her uncle.

All of the people mentioned above may be traveling to the Pomona, California area where they recently resided.

Anyone with information on the location of any of the aforementioned people is urged to call 911 or the Truth or Consequences Police Department at (575) 894-1204.
