LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - The space shuttle Endeavour is expected to fly over White Sands Missile Range and NASA's White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico Thursday morning as it heads to retirement in California.

The shuttle is set to leave Biggs Army Airfield in El Paso on top of a Boeing 747 after a refueling at about 11 a.m. MDT.

That should put it over White Sands and near Las Cruces about a half-hour later.

NASA says the 747 will make a pass over White Sands and then head to Tucson, Ariz., for another flyover before heading to Edwards Air Force Base in California.
