Washington D.C. Burglars Disabled Home Electrical Box

WUSA9.com reported that yesterday morning, would-be burglars tried to disable a home's electrical system in order to break in. These wannabe Washington D.C. electricians failed to break into the house, but did succeed in making the house's lights go out. Do we now need to secure our electrical boxes?
