New Mexico ends skid, tops New Mexico St. 27-14

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Kasey Carrier rushed for 129 yards and New Mexico snapped a 24-game road losing streak with a 27-14 victory over New Mexico State on Saturday night.

The Lobos' previous road win also came in Las Cruces when they defeated New Mexico State 35-24 on Sept. 27, 2008.

The four-year road skid had been the longest current FBS streak in the nation.

Jhurell Pressley added two touchdowns and 71 yards rushing for New Mexico (2-2), which piled up 302 yards on the ground.

The Lobos led 10-0 early and later pulled away with 17 straight points.

Andrew Manley completed 22 of 34 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown for New Mexico State (1-3).

Austin Franklin had six catches for 107 yards, including a 23-yard TD with 3:54 left in the game.
