ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico State Fair is over and Albuquerque police have tabulated the number of arrests stemming from several undercover operations around the fairgrounds.

Police say they made more than 130 arrests. That includes 85 related to prostitution and 45 related to drugs.

Officers also cleared two dozen warrants.

Police spokeswoman Officer Tasia Martinez says the crackdown in the area around the fairgrounds is done every year. City police units work with New Mexico State Police to conduct the operations.

Deputy Police Chief Paul Feist says the idea is to minimize the criminal activity in the area to provide a safe environment for fairgoers and residents.

Authorities say they usually see an influx of people in the area during the fair and that usually results in more criminal activity.

The fair wrapped up Sunday.
