State representative arrested in Las Vegas, NM

A state representative who was pulled over for running a stop sign was arrested in northern New Mexico.

Las Vegas police arrested State Rep. Richard Vigil Tuesday night. Authorities said he had an outstanding traffic warrant for failing to appear in court.

Vigil was taken to the San Miguel County jail where he spent the night. He has since bonded out.

Vigil is a representative for New Mexico's 70th District, covering San Miguel and Torrance Counties.
