Saturday is Free Fishing Day in New Mexico and the state Game and Fish Department is allowing people to fish for free - no license required.

People of all ages can try their hand at fishing or share a lifelong recreational activity with friends and family this weekend.

No licenses or stamps are required, although bag limits and other rules still apply.

The Department will be offering additional activities at Fenton Lake State Park including archery, kayaking and other educational activities - all still free, however, a $5 per vehicle day-use fee will be in effect. Walk-in entry is free. Events at the park will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
