Man sentenced to life in child abuse death case

An Española man will spend life in prison for the murder of a 17-month old girl.
Police say Nathan Montoya slapped and shook BreAndra Pena to death back in 2011. Montoya was dating the girl's godmother at the time.
A Los Alamos jury found Montoya guilty Thursday evening of intentional child abuse resulting in death.
The Santa Fe New Mexican reports Judge Michael Vigil sentenced him to life in prison.
