Two Albuquerque men are recovering after police said they were shot early Saturday morning.
Police are still looking for the shooter who has not been identified.
The shooting happened just after 4:00 a.m. at the Fantasy World club near I-25 and Jefferson.
Employees told KOB Eyewitness News 4 one of their well-known, regular customers shot the two security guards.
The front entrance of the club was visibly riddled with bullet holes Saturday afternoon.
The alleged shooter, who police have not identified, was thrown out of the strip club, but within minutes returned and opened fire on the security guards, police said.
One of the performers, who asked not to be identified, described the frightening turn of events.
"It sounded like a whole bunch of girls just stomping their heels in the hallway so I didn't think anything of it but they're like, it's a gunshot, and then everybody just hit the floor," she said. "It was pretty scary."
That same employee said it all happened so fast. "It felt like it was just five minutes, it was pat pat pat, my bouncers got shot, they're already at the hospital, and the police were already here before I could even get dressed in my regular clothes and walk out the door to see what was going on," she said.
Police have not released any description of the gunman adding he took off in a Hummer-like SUV.
The club was back open for business Sunday as usual. Both security guards were shot in their legs and are expected to be okay.
