LAS VEGAS, N.M. (AP) - Police say single-vehicle accident has claimed the life of West Las Vegas Middle School's football coach.

The Las Vegas Optic reports that 35-year-old Josh Garcia died at the scene Sunday following a crash on the city's northwest side.

Las Vegas Police Chief Christian Montano said Garcia was pinned in the vehicle, and it took about an hour for rescue workers to extricate him.

Montano said Garcia was traveling north in a four-door Crown Victoria when he hit a guardrail.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Garcia had just taken over at the West Middle School football coach this fall.
