After a quick deliberation Wednesday afternoon, a jury found Miranda Pacheco guilty of careless driving unnecessarily.

Pacheco was accused of crashing into a bicyclist on Paseo Del Norte in March 2010 and killing him.

Pacheco broke-down in tears, along with her family, as the guilty verdict was read. She declined the chance to testify Wednesday afternoon before the case went to the jury.

Pacheco's attorney argued, it was an unfortunate accident that killed bicyclist Dave Anderson more than two years ago.

But prosecutors convinced the jury, it was Pacheco's reckless driving that took his life.

"Miranda will have to understand that yes, she was responsible...whether it was reckless or careless, if she had been driving responsibly, he would be alive today," said Sherry Anderson, Dave's wife.

Following the guilty verdict, Pacheco was taken into custody. She is facing a maximum of 90 days in jail for the misdemeanor.

This was the second trial for Pacheco.  Her first trial ended in a hung-jury.

Pacheco will be sentenced October 9th at 1:30 p.m.
