Considered an “official” fiesta photographer, Raymond Watt's will tackle his ninth Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in two days.
Watt has taken thousands of images, and many of those photos are showcased in calendars and websites.
"It's pretty hard to come out to the Balloon Fiesta and not get a picture that you want to hang on your wall later on." Watt said. "There's a long standing rule of photography. It's the rule of thirds. With that, you basically break down your image into three equal parts. You want to center the focus of your attention on one of those thirds."
Watt explained how most modern cameras only require users to have some basic camera knowledge and that any scenery is an opportunity for a great great picture.
"Just being observant of things. Which way is the wind going? How's the sun looking in the shot? Are there different places where you can get a higher angle or lower angle."
With so many balloons and so much color, Watt said don't forget to look around at the people: “Looking for perspective, and I think looking for people in your shots is a good thing too. Everybody is having a good time out here, the expressions on kids faces and peoples faces are wonderful."
