If you haven't heard, October 4th is National Taco Day. In honor of the holiday, Best Bites is featuring a mobile taco shack that's putting a whole new spin on tacos.
You may have seen the Dia de los Takos trailer rolling around Albuquerque.
Fortunately for our taste buds, it makes pit stops.
We caught up with Dia de los Takos outside Marble Brewery on Marble near 1st.
Chef Dominic Valenzuela is cooking up all kinds of goodness inside, including a taco trio: baja fish, deep fried avocado, and Vietnamese "Nom Nom" tacos.
The fish and avocado are both dipped in tempura beer batter and topped with a baja slaw.
As for the Vietnamese "Nom Nom" taco, that one is made of plum and hoisin marinated carnitas and topped with cucumber, carrots, daikon, basil and jalapeno.
Three tacos will set you back $8 and you get a free cupcake made by Princess Pastries.
"When you come up here, I want you to try something new. I want to take you on a journey, take your taste buds on a journey. Give you something that you're not expecting that day," says Chef Dominic.
