APD has identified the pedestrian killed yesterday on Eubank as James Currier, 66.
Police say Currier was killed after being struck by two vehicles Wednesday near the intersection of Lomas and Eubank NE at about 6:40 a.m.
They say Currier was struck by a gray Ford pickup driven by Arthur Martin, 74, and then run over by a second vehicle, a 2002 blue Hyundai driven by Manuel Adams, 49.
Currier was pronounced dead at the scene.
When officers arrived to investigate the deadly crash, witnesses told them that Adams left the scene without stopping to render aid or speak with emergency response personnel.
Officers spoke with Adams who returned to the scene and Adams explained to them that he knew he ran over something with his vehicle, but was unaware until later that it was a person.
Adams continued driving to work after the collision and after speaking with his wife learned that he had run over a man, so he returned to the scene.
Adams was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and was immediately booked on that charge.
The preliminary crash report documents “pedestrian error” on part of Currier and “driver inattention, failure to yield right of way” in regards to Adam’s actions.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident.
The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for determination on charges.
