SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A Democratic-leaning political group says a poll challengers training session by an Albuquerque-area Republican official provided misinformation about voter identification requirements that could be used to suppress turnout in the general election.

ProgressNow New Mexico on Thursday released secretly recorded video of the training last month by Sandoval County GOP vice chairwoman Patricia Morlen.

Trainees were given written material and told that voters can be required to show a physical form of identification if requested by two polling place officials from different political parties.

But state law doesn't allow that except in very limited circumstances.

Morlen did not return a telephone message seeking comment.

A GOP spokeswoman says the training wasn't done by the state Republican Party but it will work with the county GOP to correct any problems.
