For those who are heading out to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for the first time Saturday morning, KOB Eyewitness News 4 has this survival guide for you.

While the directional signs are already up and the orange barrels ready to go, getting into Balloon Fiesta Park can still be a frustrating experience.

So, KOB4 asked some veteran Fiesta-goers to give the Fiesta neophytes some advice.

"Get up early and mix with the group out on the field," one Fiesta-goer said.

One recommended that people come early with their cameras fully charged. Another said to ride your bike to the event.

And for those driving to the park from the Eastside, take I-25 north and exit Tramway to the Frontage road. For those who are driving in from the West, take Alameda all the way into the park.

When entering the park people are asked to have their $10 cash-only entrance fee ready to go to keep traffic moving along.

Also, don't forget money for souvenirs and food as most vendors start opening for business around 5:00 a.m.

But most importantly, Fiesta-goers should remember to bring their patience as a good time is ahead.
