UPDATE: Rio Arriba Sheriff's Office makes 2nd arrest

The Rio Arriba County Sheriff's office has two suspects in custody as it continues its investigation into an Thursday evening homicide in Northern New Mexico.

A male in his late 60's was found dead in his Chimayo home by a caretaker around noon Friday. He has been identified as Rudy Montoya.

A spokesperson for the department told KOB Eyewitness News 4 Friday afternoon that one female suspect was already in in jail on unrelated charges.

The Sheriff's Office is now telling us they've arrested a second female suspect, and that both the women have given incriminating statements in the case.

A third female suspect is in the hospital with life threatening injuries of unknown origin.

The Sheriff's Office is not releasing any of the suspects' names at this time.

As a result of the investigation, other crimes were discovered that were solved in connection with State Police, Española Police and the Sheriff's Office.
