The Albuquerque City Council passed an ordinance late Monday aimed at stopping the sale of synthetic marijuana - also known as "spice."

This means that if a business is found to be selling "spice," police can issue a cease and desist order and seize the product.

If caught three times, the business could lose its license. The chemicals used to make "spice" are already illegal under state law.

Also Monday, the City Council voted to tighten rules for strip clubs in Albuquerque.

The new law will require the inside of VIP rooms to be clearly visible from the outside. Patrons will not be allowed to touch dancers.

And club owners would have to apply for a license once a year - and record information on every employee.
