ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Two of the Republican Party's rising stars are holding rallies in Albuquerque and Las Cruces Wednesday for U.S. Senate candidate Heather Wilson.

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez will join U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at the events promoting Wilson as the candidate who will turn around the economy and create jobs.

Democratic leaders, meantime, will be holding their own events in support of Wilson's opponent, Rep. Martin Heinrich.

Former presidential candidate and U.S. Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts will be in Santa Fe for a fundraiser for Heinrich.

And Rep. Charles Gonzalez of Texas, who chairs the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, will join New Mexico Rep. Representative Ben Ray Lujan and Heinrich in downtown Albuquerque to show their support for him and President Barack Obama.
