A couple was found running a meth lab out of a hotel room, according to Albuquerque police.
Officers came across the make-shift drug shop at the InTown Suites located at 4676 commerce Avenue NE.
Officers were serving a search warrant on one of the room at the hotel when, police said, they made the shocking discovery.
According to the department, Erik Tesluk, 30, and Renee Romero, 31, are facing narcotics charges.
Officers seized a half-ounce of methamphetamines.
A guest who had been staying there told KOB Eyewitness News 4, that is the thing about hotels, you never know who is doing what in the room next door.
"You don't know the people that are around, because I heard people on meth are crazy," Destiney Carr said.
InTown Suites director of marketing and communication, Collier Daily, issued the following statement to KOB Eyewitness News 4:
"InTown Suites was contacted on October 24, 2012 by Albuquerque Police regarding a potential criminal issue involving a guest. We assisted police with access to the room, at which time two people were arrested for alleged drug related activity. According to police, no drug manufacturing or sales took place on InTown Suites property. The guests had been staying with us since early October with no prior incidents. The matter temporarily displaced some other nearby guests, causing inconvenience. Therefore, we made alternate arrangements to help ensure their comfort during the investigation. The safety and security of our employees and guests is of utmost importance. We will continue to work with local authorities in this investigation and to ensure that InTown remains safe, quiet and comfortable."
Tesluk and Romero were arrested and are facing charges of trafficking by manufacturing a controlled substance, trafficking by possession of a controlled substance, and multiple counts of conspiracy, police said.
