El Kookooee burned Sunday in the South Valley

A huge monster went up in flames Sunday night in the South Valley.
His name is El Kookooee.
He may look similar to Zozobra of Santa Fe, but there is a difference.
While Zozobra is a martyr sacrificed to erase collective worry and gloom, El Kookooee is a fabled bogeyman who eats disobedient children.
El Kookooee is designed by local students each year.
This year's design was from a fifth-grader at Adobe Acres who imagined El Kookooee as a green monster.
