Springer correctional officer accused of driving drunk, crashing car

A Springer corrections officer is accused of driving drunk and crashing a city vehicle.
State Police said Michael Finkbone crashed through the gate of the Springer Recreational Center last week.
Finkbone is a trustee for the city.
He told officers he drank a pint of Southern Comfort before driving to the rec center.
Finkbone also told officers he drank a few beers while at the rec center and also took some sleeping pills before getting back behind the wheel. Finkbone then crashed through the gate at the center.
Finkbone is still working at the Springer Correctional Facility while an investigation continues.
