According to a report issued by the FBI, Albuquerque had an increase in crime in 2011.

The report shows burglaries, larcenies and auto thefts increased by approximately six percent.

Murders were down by 29 percent.

Overall, Albuquerque is keeping pace with national trends.

the Albuquerque Police Officers Association responded to the report. The president of the union said the city is on the verge of a critical officer shortage.

The union also said the report should be a wakeup call to the current administration.

NOTE: The report originally listed rape statistics, which APOA discovered was inaccurate. Our story has removed those statistics.
