New details emerge in Hackman slapping

More information has surfaced regarding actor Gene Hackman's slapping of a homeless man in Santa Fe.
According to a police report, Hackman was in the plaza Tuesday with his wife when a homeless man named Bruce Becker asked him for money.
Hackman told police that when he refused, the man became enraged, calling Hackman and his wife crude names.
The police report said that was Hackman slapped him.
The actor said the slapping was in self defense.
Neither Hackman nor Becker has been charged.
