SILVER CITY, N.M. (AP) - A Western New Mexico University project aimed at producing a documentary on Chicano music in Grant County is still looking for forgotten artists.

The project announced earlier this month that organizers with the Grant County Chicano Music Project are searching for more artists and memorabilia for a documentary to premiere at a Chicano Music Festival planned for August 2013.

Filming is scheduled to continue until May. Local Chicano musicians are encouraged to submit an entry in the songwriting contest by clicking here.

The documentary will celebrate the history of Grant County Chicano musicians from the post-World War II era to the present.
