The UNM men's basketball team beat Victory Wednesday night 105-64.  It was UNM's first exhibition game of the season.  Point guard Hugh Greenwood was the only Lobo not to score, but he chipped in a team-high 12 rebounds in 26 minutes of play.

"Not a lot of point guards get 12 rebounds and no points," joked head coach Steve Alford.  "Hugh knows what best wins us games.  We have to get some other guards to rebound at the level he is."

Fellow Aussie Cameron Bairstow scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds of his own.  Junior Demetrius Walker tied Bairstow for team-high scoring honors with 22 points of his own on 8-of-10 shooting.

Here are some other notes from the game:

The Lobos finished with 23 assists and only eight turnovers

UNM made 12 of their first 15 field goals and finished the game shooting nearly 58%.  They shot 73% from inside the three point line.

Alex Kirk sat out after suffering a sprained ankle in a scrimage on Saturday.  "Alex probably could have played tonight but we didn't want to risk anything."

Alford said he will reshirt freshman Devon Williams this season.
