The New Mexico men's basketball team had its way in a 105-64 exhibition win against Victory on Wednesday night at the Pit.

More than 12,400 fans watched the Lobos dismantle the liberal arts college from the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Cameron Bairstow and Demetrius Walker each scored 22 points to lead New Mexico.

The Lobos four guard starting lineup included Hugh Greenwood, Kendall Williams, Walker and Tony Snell. Snell added 15 points and Williams scored 17 in the game.

Greenwood didn't score on four attempts, but he did lead New Mexico with 12 rebounds.

Head coach Steve Alford left post game praise for his leading big man, Bairstow.

"He's had two years of playing against Drew Gordon, A.J. Hardeman, and those two have been rocks for us the last two years," Alford said. "To get to play against those guys everyday in practice, to play against Alex (Kirk), he is just getting better."

Notes: Alford announced he would red-shirt freshman Devon Williams this season.

Senior Jamal Fenton played 8 minutes off the bench against Victory. Earlier this week Fenton was suspended three regular season games by the NCAA for receiving impermissible benefits. It was reported he received a discount on a banquet room at an Albuquerque hotel.

The Lobos host one more exhibition game Monday against New Mexico Highlands at 7 p.m. The season opener is a midnight tipoff at home Nov. 12 against Davidson.
