A man accused of stabbing a Walgreen's employee over the summer is in jail Saturday night.

The suspect is Mack Wells.

Police say he stabbed a clerk at the Walgreen's on San Mateo near Montgomery in July.

A criminal complaint states Wells was refused alcohol at the store because he was already drunk. He's alleged to have exited the store and exchanged words with the victim before "bumping into him and walking away." The victim showed another employee his injury, the complaint states.

Store employees told police they recognized Wells when he came back to that same store in October.

Wells faced a judge Saturday on an aggravated battery charge.

He's held at the county jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
