Alford gets big production out of his big men

The University of New Mexico men's basketball team won their second and final exhibition game of the season, beating New Mexico Highlands 92-70.  The Lobos outscored Highlands 26-3 riding a 6:30 span in the 1st half to open a 28 point lead.

 

Alex Kirk played in his first game in over a year.  He came off the bench to lead UNM with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 21 minutes.  Junior Cameron Bairstow added 14 points and 7 rebounds of his own. Bairstow has scored 36 points in two exhibition games.

 

The Lobos open regular season play next Monday at home against Davidson.  It's an 11:59pm tipoff as part of ESPN's 24 hours of basketball.
