A Bernalillo County Commission win by former city councilor Debbie O'Malley has given the five-member body a Democratic majority once again.

The commission was briefly under Republican control after Gov. Susana Martinez appointed Simon Kubiak to fill the seat vacated by Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham, who resigned to run for Congress.

On Tuesday, O'Malley defeated Kubiak, giving the commission a 3-2 Democratic majority.
