ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Police says thieves have stolen a semi-automatic assault rifle and other items from an Albuquerque detective's truck while he was playing golf.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that the bandits struck last month the unmarked police truck of Zach Stephenson during a golf excursion at Puerto del Sol in Southeast Albuquerque.

Authorities say among the other items stolen were a "flash bang" distraction device, a shotgun that fires Taser prongs and Stephenson's personal bulletproof body armor.

Deputy Police Chief Paul Feist said in an interview Wednesday that none of the items has been recovered, but officers were notified of the stolen weapons through an internal alert.

Officials say Stephenson's chain of command is conducting an "internal review" to determine whether the detective was negligent in any way.
