Several sources tell KOB Eyewitness News 4 that District Judge Bob Schwartz has died.

KOB was told Schwartz was hospitalized after a fall and died of pneumonia.

Schwartz was known for his wit, his debating skills and his robust mustache.

Schwartz served as Bernalillo County District Attorney for two terms, and was Governor Bill Richardson's crime adviser from 2002 to 2005.

In 2006, he became the chief prosecutor for the Department of Regulations and Licensing.

In 2008, Governor Richardson appointed Schwartz to be a criminal judge in the second district.

Schwartz was 62 years old.
