Fallen leaves also present dangers

Just when we were starting to enjoy the vibrant fall colors, a cold snap swept through, knocking down those golden leaves.
Kenny Grebe, owner of Red Shovel Landscape, said his business is busy cleaning up the mess.
"Mulberrys, Ash trees - they're starting to drop a majority of their canopies at this particular time," Grebe said.
It's messy to look at, but Grebe said it's also a fire hazard - in places you might not expect.
"If you allow that leaf litter to accumulate near your vents - dryer vents, heater vents, near your fireplace - it's just excess tinder that can get an easy spark and light a fire," Grebe said.
While it's good practice to pick up the leaves on the ground, Grebe said you should really be concerned about the leaves on the roof.
Grebe said flat roofs are a problem, especially if leaves plug up the drainage.
If it gets clogged up like a dam then you'll have excess water accumulating on a flat roof and it just carries a lot of weight - it can cause that roof to fail.
A little fall leaf looks so innocent. Grebe said don't be deceived. It can cause a kind of property damage you don't want to know.
