ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A former basketball coach from Las Cruces has been indicted on federal child pornography charges.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Erik Khan was indicted by a federal grand jury in Albuquerque on Wednesday.

The three-count indictment charges the 32-year-old Khan with distributing, receiving and possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Khan's arraignment has not yet been scheduled.

A message seeking comment was left Thursday with Khan's attorney.

Khan was employed as a basketball coach at a Las Cruces middle school when he was arrested in May. He has been in federal custody since then.

Prosecutors say the alleged offenses occurred in Dona Ana County between February 2010 and April 2012.
