A Bernalillo County spokesman says a man, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle crash Friday on NM 14, also known as NM 314 or the James F. McGrane Memorial Highway.

The crash is caused the closure of the road in both directions.

The accident happened as two motorcycles were traveling northbound on South 14 near mile marker 27, near Route 66.

One of the motorcycles lost control and struck a guardrail.

The single rider, a 30 year old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and it appears that speed was a factor. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

His next of kin has not yet been notified.
