Owner of Pit Bulls involved in Santa Fe attack faces charges

Charges are coming for the owner of two Pit bulls in Santa Fe that attacked and killed a Chihuahua earlier this week.

Police told KOB Eyewitness News 4 the two Pit Bulls belong to Gerard Mathews.

The dogs are accused of jumping a fence on Tuesday and attacking a woman who was walking her dog.

The 6 pound Chihuahua named Lillie died in the attack.

Police say Mathews will be charged Monday for having vicious animals and letting them run free.
