A man accused of voting twice in the last election faced a judge for the first time in Albuquerque Metro Court.
On Wednesday Thomas Pino was charged with felony counts of voter fraud and forgery after poll workers reported Pino as casting a ballot as his 18-year-old son during early voting.
When originally confronted by the KOB Eyewitness News 4 On Your Side investigative team, Pino denied the charges but later changed his story and said he had made a terrible mistake.
Pino also told KOB4 that his son had authorized him to vote under his name.
Pino has been released from custody on a $5,000 bond.
A background check shows Pino has no criminal history.
