Fatal accident shuts down SB I-25 near Santo Domingo for several hours

Interstate 25 south of Santo Domingo, between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, was closed for several hours as crews cleaned up a fatal accident.

The accident happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at mile marker 256. 

Susan Kratt, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sandoval County Sheriff's Office said. 

Kratt was a passenger in a truck with a trailer attached. Another vehicle hit the trailer and caused the truck to flip, ejecting three other passengers. 

The driver of of vehicle was airlifted to Christus St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe.

The driver of the truck and three passengers were sent to UNM Hospital in Albuquerque.

Alcohol has been rule out as a factor and a cause is still under investigation.

The interstate was reopened around 3:30 p.m., some drivers experienced two hour stalls on the interstate.
