COLUMBUS, N.M. (AP) - Federal authorities say they've arrested a fugitive sex offender from Albuquerque at the Columbus port of entry.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say 40-year-old Daniel Lee Casker entered the port from Mexico as a pedestrian on Sunday.

They say Casker presented a birth certificate and driver license to CBP officers, who discovered that he had six warrants for his arrest. Details of the cases weren't immediately available Monday.

Authorities say Casker was turned over to the Luna County Sheriff's Office.

They didn't immediately know whether Casker has an attorney yet.
