UPDATE: Driver in pedestrian death investigated for DWI

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle on Albuquerque’s West Side.

Albuquerque police say the accident occurred on Coors Boulevard, just north of Paseo del Norte.

Police have confirmed the victim is male, but his identity is unknown at this time.

According to police, it was still dark at the time of the crash and the victim was not in a pedestrian crosswalk.

The driver said he did not see the man in the road.

The driver has been detained and investigated for possible DWI.
